Myles Goodwyn of April Wine
Hear the stories behind the classic April Wine hits and the voice of the classic rock anthems you have enjoyed for the last 40 years in an acoustic setting. Hear him tell stories from his national best seller Just Between You & Me up close in an intimate setting overlooking the Danube River.
Singer, guitarist, writer, producer and leader of the band April Wine, Myles Goodwyn's passion and drive shaped and directed the group from its earliest beginnings. Goodwyn grew up poor and is the classic "small-town kid makes good" success story. From the very beginning, Goodwyn plotted the course of the band. His unique but classic rock voice gives April Wine a distinct and immediately recognizable sound. Ranging from hard rock classics to soulful ballads, his prolific song writing, and vocal range hold the listener.
He has penned virtually every April Wine song, exemplifying a knack with words and an ability to write a catchy tune at will. Through the ups and downs and changing faces of the band, the one thing that has remained constant is Myles Goodwyn. Even today and with their latest release and shift in direction, his voice is as strong and apparent as ever.
Now in its fourth decade, April Wine continues to charge ahead as one of Canada's very best rock bands. And as far as rock history goes, Myles Goodwyn is already a living legend (especially in the annals of Canadian rock history), being known as one of the all-time greats. His compositions include multi-generational April Wine smash hits such as Roller, Enough is Enough, Gypsy Queen, You Could Have Been a Lady, Tonight is a Wonderful Time as well as the title of his national best-selling book Just Between You & Me - to name a few.
In Just Between You and Me, Goodwyn shares the story of his upbringing, first at home in rural New Brunswick and then in the music business as the lead singer of one of Canada's most popular bands ever, April Wine.

Ray Mattie, Kitchen Party
Antigonish County native Ray Mattie has been performing since he first hit the drums in his grade 4 elementary class. It was at that point he knew that he simply wanted a life in music. After years of playing in garage bands in high school and university, Ray created the Celtic/Rock group Pogey and become a regular at the famous Lower Deck in Halifax.
His performance highlights include landing multiple headlining slots on the mainstages of America's biggest Celtic festivals such as Kansas City, Colorado, Michigan, Iowa, Milwaukee and countless more. Ray's new music can be labelled as a Roots/Pop flavour with catchy choruses. His new recording "Start Tonight" is an eight-track album based on "living in the now" since we never know when a fortuitous opportunity will present itself again.
Ray is the Founder & Executive Director of Nova Scotia Summer Fest - a celebration of Nova Scotia Music & Culture with the aim to raise funds for summer music camps for youth.
Anna Ludlow, Kitchen Party
Anna Ludlow appeared on the music scene in Nova Scotia in the late 1990s and has since been captivating audiences across North America ever since. Studying under, and collaborating with some of eastern Canada's most celebrated artists led her to an opportunity in 2005 to take her music to the next level, signing-on as the principal fiddle player for DRUM!, the critically acclaimed (and Juno nominated) touring production from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Anna's musical style and performance energy was a match made in heaven with DRUM!, as the production captures the traditional sounds of four founding Canadian cultures into a harmony which has wowed sold-out audiences across North America.
Since then, her career has flourished and she has entertained royalty, celebrities and Olympic athletes. Her wealth of experience set the stage for her to release her debut album Reel to Reel in 2010. The album drew nominations from both Music Nova Scotia and the East Coast Music Awards.
The fall of 2018 marked the realease of her much-anticipated sophomore album. Drawing on the spirit of her working class Nova Scotian ancestry, Anna Ludlow fuses traditional Celtic tunes with a modern percussive vibe, showcasing her versatility as a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. Weaving this with other cultural influences, Ludlow focuses on a high energy performance dedicated to carrying traditional tunes into the next generation.
Anna is currently the lead fiddler in the hit musical Come From Away the Toronto production.
